A technical pamphlet produced by BRB, probably written in the late 1980s. It outlines the (then) current technologies and systems used in 25kV Overhead Line Equipment (OLE), and extolls the virtues of various technologies designed to reduce the capital costs of electrifications schemes, such as SMOS and OSD by computer.The booklet was given to graduate Electrification Engineers (in the archivists case, in 1991) as a simple way to introduce them to current electrification thinking; it also serves as a good record of BRs OLE design philosophy in the last few years of its existence.
