Boutique Design 2012 №05-06
ST Media Group International, 2012. — 69 p.
Boutique Design Magazine focuses on hospitality interior design, specifically new hotel, restaurant, spa and nightclub designs, and speaks to the interior designer of these spaces to find out how they created their design.
Well, she warned us: In nominating her boss, Kristofer Keith, for this year’s Boutique 18, Spacecraft Group’s Anastasiya Kuzima called him a true badass. Not a day goes by that he doesn’t gives 110 percent to his firm. Based on his cutting-edge work in designing such spaces as Kitchen 24, the Ortolan restaurant and the Premier Supper Club, Keith made the cut and became part of this year’s 18 . And, true to form, in his replies to the questionnaire that we sent out to the honorees, Keith pulled no punches. Take, for example, his response to our question about lessons learned from the Great Recession: If you’re great at what you do, recessions don’t affect you.
You actually grow because the economy cleans out all your competition and clears the field for potential clients. A bit over the top? Perhaps. A thought that’s crossed many designers’ minds? Probably. One of the prime missions of Boutique Design is to bring you the behind-the-scenes stories about the challenges, joys and frustrations that designers face in creating the fabulous projects we profile. And the insights shared by Keith — and this year’s 17 other worthy honorees — serve as one of the centerpieces of that effort.
For mini-profiles of each of this year’s winners, turn to page 24 . Beyond that, you can meet them in person at the Boutique 18 Bash, which takes place the evening of May 16 in Las Vegas at the Gallery Nightclub in the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
