Heisnumbered alongside Newton, Maxwell, Einstein, and Rutherford as one of the greatest physicists of all time. He was born in Bristol on 8 August 1902 and died on 20 October 1984 in Tallahassee, Florida. On Monday13November 1995, after evensong, a plaque was dedicated in Westminster Abbey commemorating Paul Dirac. The simplicity and almost austere beauty of the plaque's design are reflected in someways the qualities of Dirac's unique intellect.
