However, if Spassky had not acknowledged Fischer's demands, he would've won the World Chess Championship easily, but Spassky decided to try and win by playing, not forfeiture... He then had a mental blunder, so Fischer (7W-11D-1L) proved to be unstoppable in the next Game and the following Games, and would eventually become the 11th World Chess Champion!
