The magazine, published 13 times annually, is a spin-off version of its sister publication of the same name based in the USA. National Geographic Kids (nicknamed Nat Geo Kids) was first published as National Geographic World in 1975 by the National Geographic Society. The publication changed to its present name in 2002. Currently, it has an estimated 4.6 million plus English readers (as of 2006). Besides the latest world-inspiring news, stories and discoveries, each issue (for children aged 6-14) is packed with awesome photography, entertaining puzzles/ crafts, brain-boggling quizzes and the latest interviews with science and tech experts in the field.
