Ian Caldwell and Dustin Thomason are childhood friends who co-wrote the best-selling novel “The Rule of Four” (2004). It is an intellectual detective story and a semi-autobiographical novel, because they write about students at Princeton University. Caldwell himself studied at Princeton, and Thomason no less prestigious Harvard.
Abstract: A mysterious Renaissance manuscript, written in seven languages, with acrostics and anagrams, cryptograms and literary puzzles, is the key to the mystery of missing ancient Roman treasures?! Scientists have been struggling to decipher this manuscript for 500 years, but only now four Princeton students have managed to come closer than others to the solution... But will they be able to complete the job? The discoveries they make shock even themselves. The secret of the manuscript is fraught with mortal danger.
