I think this is an under used, perhaps even unknown book on the war of the Revolution and its impact on American society. Thesis and conclusions are much clearer than a lot of Don Higginbotham's work. IT IS NOT ONLY AN ACCOUNT OF THE BATTLES AND LEADERS OF THE WAR! Its more social history, done well. It is in the "new" military history genre, and is nicely written, and well documented.
