Lee H.U. The Way of Traditional Taekwondo. Volume 1. White Belt
American Taekwondo Association, 1993. — 140 p.
This book is a part of a collection of reference materials covering the complete style of Songahm Taekwondo. It is a teaching manual; however, most of the information learned int school can be found in text books. We need a teacher (in this case an instructor) to assist us in learning faster and to evaluate and correct us.
Volume I of The Way Of Traditional Taekwondo was developed for the beginner student. It covers the stances, basics, and kicks used at the koo geup (9th grade) white belt (Taekwondo rank) level and is not suggested to be a source of self-defense in itself. To learn proper self-defense, a student must train for an extended period of time under qualified instruction. To expect a koo geup (9th grade) white belt student to be able to apply this knowledge for practical street use would be the same as expecting a high school student trained in track to compete and win against an Olympic gold medalist.
