Bulletin № 26. — Urbana, Illinois: Division of the State Water Survey, 1928. — 100 p.
Herewith I submit a report of studies on the depth of sewage filters and the degree of purification, and recommend that it be published as Bulletin No. 26 of the Illinois State Water Survey. This report summarizes work carried on in part at the treatment works of the Urbana-Champaign Sanitary District and in part at the experimental plant maintained in cooperation with the University of Illinois. The assistance of cooperating agencies is hereby gratefully acknowledged.
We trust that the results of the investigation will justify a more economical design of sewage filters than has formerly been considered necessary.
