Boorer M. Wild Cats
London: Paul Hamlin, 1969. — 160 p.
Probably the most popular of all the animals in the zoo are the big cats and their relatives. This book is a popular account of all the living species and their habits. Besides descriptions of the cats and their natural environments, ways in which man has used these animals are also described, such as hunting with Cheetahs and Tigerhunting using elephants. The cat family is introduced with its ancestors, such as Sabre-Toothed Tigers, and is followed through its various developments to the wild cats we know today.
The author, Michael Boorer, is a lecturer at the London Zoo. He is well known on television and is a pioneer in popular zoo lectures for children and students.
