Holden W. (ed.) Arizona Highways Presents Desert Wildflowers
Arizona Highways, 1988. — 116 p.
To those of us who have the privilege of working at the Desert Botanical Garden, wildflowers have become a part of our daily lives. Throughout the year, as each season succeeds the other, we watch diverse species put on their natural delights. And along with the aesthetic enrichment that these flowers give us comes deeper awareness and understanding of these desert plants — and the urgent need to protect them and their habitat.
From the thousands of wildflowers that grow on the desert, the 63 species described in this book represent a wide variety to include all four growing seasons. These plants are native to Arizona and frequently seen. For the reader's convenience. Desert Botanical Garden will provide an annual update list of places where they are available through commercial seed and plant suppliers. Taken as a group, they will get you started in knowing and growing wildflowers in all four seasons.
