The book is designed as a series of solutions involving wireless technology — solutions for home users, small business users, and even anyone involved in setting up and maintaining wireless communication for larger businesses.
Each section of the book offers a look at a different range of solutions. For example, Part One is concerned with getting a wireless network up and running efficiently and usefully, and Part Two is all about making that network secure (a subject very near and dear to Wi-Fi’s heart these days). By the time you’ve finished these two parts, you’ll have a very good idea of how to make your wireless network function, what to do when it stops functioning (as it inevitably will), and how to make sure your neighbor, or a passing war driver (you’ll learn about these), isn’t accessing your wireless network and digging through the files on your notebook — or worse.
The rest of the book follows suit, but the topics range widely over the wireless map. From wireless entertainment centers to setting up and using Wi-Fi hotspots, the book offers ideas to make the most out of the burgeoning wireless field.
