Johns Christopher. Being mindful, easing suffering: reflections on palliative care
London: Jessica Kingsley Publishers, 2004. — 272 p.
The book describes how traditional medical and more reflective models can be combined when working in end of life care to alleviate pain and suffering. An insight into personal reflection by one of the Reflection Gurus in Nursing. It covers narrative reflection into holistic care as practised in a specific Hospice. the narrative is heartwarming and awe inspiring. That Christopher Johns has lost faith in the NHS managed health System becomes apparent. he incorporates alternative therapy and the wisdom gleaned from Buddhism throughout the text. One of my favourite nursing texts.
