Kornev Alexei. Rossolimo and Friends
Chess Stars, 2015. — 348 p. — ISBN: 978-619-7188-03-5.
Alexei Kornev offers a repertoire for White after 1.e4,c5; 2.Nf3, based on the Rossolimo Attack, 3.Bb5 after 2..Nc6; and the Moscow Variation, 3.Bb5+, after 2..d6. Against 2..e6 he recommends 3.g3 as a flexible response employed by many leading Grandmasters, including Magnus Carlsen.
He also examines 2nd move alternatives for Black such as 2..a6; 2..g6; 2..Qc7; and 2..Nf6; amongst others.
The Rossolimo and Moscow variations are based on sound positional themes and require much less memorisation than some of the Open Sicilian main lines such as the Najdorf, Chelyabinsk or Dragon variations.
Alexei Kornev is an International Grandmaster and chess coach.
