During the past two decades, much interest in the subject ol' reptilian reproduction has developed, and detailed studies of many species have been carried out. As a result of these studies, it has been well established that reproductive parameters such as clutch or litter size, number of broods per season, and time required for development from natality to sexual maturity all vary intraspecifically and are subject to geographic variation.
