This volume - investigating the work of a particular photographer, in this case, Josef Sudek - comprises a 4000-word essay by an expert in the field, 55 photographs presented chronologically, each with a commentary, and a biography of the featured photographer.
Josef Sudek (1896-1976) is as closely associated with Prague as Eugene Atget was with Paris. Although his work was appreciated early on in his homeland, he only achieved international fame towards the end of his career, and his reputation is based primarily on the panoramic pictures he took in and around Prague, published as Praha Panoramaticka in 1959.
