UK Meteorological Office. Handbook of Aviation Meteorology
Third edition. — London: HMSO, 1994. — 414 p.
The primary objective of this handbook is to provide a work suitable for use by pilots undergoing intermediate or advanced courses of instruction at flying training schools. Within these limits the subject is covered comprehensively, but an elementary knowledge of meteorology on the part of the reader will be an advantage. The presentation has been made reasonably simple and physical ideas explained as they arise; mathematical knowledge is not required beyond an ability to handle some simple formulae, but for the benefit of those readers familiar with elementary calculus, proofs of most of the formulae used are collected together in an appendix.
