The incorporation of basic physics and mathematical derivation provide the background understanding necessary for the serious student to evaluate the value of this approach in these types of applications. Consequently, the expected accuracy and contribution of pulsatile flow to the pathophysiology of vascular remodeling and acute response to changes in the hemodynamics can be evaluated with greater confidence.
