Foss C.F. ed. Jane's Armour and Artillery 2005-2006
NY.: Janes Information Group., 2005. - 202 p.
Chris Foss is the Editor of Jane's Armour and Artillery and Co-editor of Jane's Armour and Artillery Upgrades, Jane's Land-Based Air Defence and Jane's Military Vehicles and Logistics; he acts as the Land Forces Editor of Jane's Defence Weekly. His achievements include conceiving and editing Jane's Defence Review, the first magazine ever produced by Jane's Information Group, and launching Jane's Missiles and Rockets. He has written books relating to armoured vehicles and weapons systems both for Jane's and for other publishers. He has also lectured in a number of countries, chaired many conferences and acted as a defence consultant for numerous private sector contractors, government agencies and the UK MOD.
Jane's Armour and Artillery provides you with information essential for recognition, procurement and threat assessment relating to the world's armour and artillery systems that are currently in use or under development. Each entry includes accurate and reliable details of development, description, variants, specifications, status and manufacturer, complete with photographs to aid identification. Key contents include: Main battle, medium and light tanks; Reconnaissance vehicles; Armoured and personnel carriers; Infantry fighting vehicles; Armoured command vehicles; Towed and self-propelled guns and howitzers; Multiple rocket launchers. Related information can be found in Jane's Military Vehicles and Logistics and Jane's Armour and Artillery Upgrades. We also recommend Jane's Defence Equipment Library for all the key platform information.
Another hard-to-find reference book from a reputable private intelligence company, even though it's ten years old it costs £455. There is no more authoritative and classic source about tanks in the world, so Janes’ articles about new products, for example, about the Russian T-14 Armata, about conclusions from the recent practice of using artillery in the Donbass, would be interesting, but alas. There are no other releases on the free web (there is a saved electronic version of 2002, we will post that too).
