Quality: originally electronicThis is very absorbing story of a young British man who started a carpet workshop in post-Soviet Uzbekistan. His adventures are enough to hold the reader's attention but his insights into the life of an uzbeki really made the book. Great and quick read that flies by leaving one wanting more. Wonderful view of the culture and contemporary history of Uzbekistan told in a humane and entertaining way by someone who lived and worked there for 7 years.
