Heisig James W. Remembering the Kana: The Hiragana
Japan Publications Trading, 2001. — 78 p.
Language: English.
For learning and memorizing the Japanese hiragana alphabet.
The aim of this little book is a simple one: to help you teach yourself to read and write the two Japanese syllabaries, the hiragana and the katakana in three hours each. by "three hours" is meant three cumulative hours of hard work, not three continuous hours of unbroken study, and certainly not three hours in a classroom with a teacher and other students;
The two parts of the book, set back to back, follow the same method, arc laid out in the same format, and ilia re common tables in the middle of the volume. Readers who already know tine or the other of the syllabaries completely can pass il over and go directly to the part they wish Lo learn. If you are a newcomer, you should begin with the course on the hiragana before flipping the book over and tackling the katakana.
