The aim of this dissertation is to show the processes connected with the initiation of the tradition of megalithic monuments being built in the TRB culture (German: Trichterbecherkultur).
The presented study consists of five chapters. The first of them is a source basis for considerations undertaken in successive parts of the study. The aim of chapter 2 is to present the analyses devoted to the position of Niedźwiedź type tombs (further: NTTs) within the unchambered long barrows of the TRB culture, and chapter 3 shows them in a bit broader - European - perspective. Chapters 4 and 5 include an attempt at answering a question concerning the position of NTTs in the initiation of megalithic funeral architecture of the TRB culture.
