Only a very few comprehensive presentations of the scientific fundamentals of the aerodynamics of the airplane have ever been published. The present book is an English translation of the two-volume work "Aerodynamik des Flugzeuges," which has already appeared in a second edition in the original German. In this book we treat exclusively the aerodynamic forces that act on airplane components-and thus on the whole airplane-during its motion through the earth's atmosphere (aerodynamics of the airframe).
