This is Volume 2 of a well researched work in two volumes that covers the beginnings of the early British regiments under trading companies up through full participation in the World Wars. The Central Africa Regiment, Uganda Rifles, and East Africa Rifles of the 1890's became the King's African Rifles which fought in German East Africa in World War I. Many small expeditions are covered, especially against the Mad Mullah in Somaliland. World War II saw outstanding services rendered in Abyssinia, Madagascar, and Burma. Appendices cover uniforms, medals, and statistics.
