Ronnie Clarke, a man Pascoe taught to fly, attempts to fly in a doctor through rough weather to help the critically injured Pascoe. Later, Clarke has a series of strange dreams which recount Pascoe's life from his earliest days as a pilot, through his loves and career, and on to his present problem.
