This book is a collection of SAS System programming examples accompanied by detailed annotations of each program. Each chapter begins with an Introduction followed by the Examples, which contain sample programs, explanations, and output. Many of the examples begin with a simple idea and build on that idea step by step. Hopefully, this approach will teach you one or more new skills with each example.
One of the main strengths of SAS software is that it can process data in almost any format. Although the SAS System can deal directly with many types of proprietary data formats by using various engines, this book limits its scope to processing SAS data sets only.
Each chapter ends with a series of Problems. Your learning will be enhanced if you work out these problems yourself without first peeking at the Solutions.
