Make sure you download the entire file (without disconnection).
Try downloading the file again. Points are not withdrawn for repeated downloads of files.

3. I downloaded the TIF file, and there is only the first page. What does it mean?

Open the file not with a standard image viewer, but AcdSee, IrfanView, STDU Viewer as mentioned above.
They support multi-page TIF files.

4. I downloaded the CHM file, but is it empty or doesn't open. What should I do?

Make sure there are no # characters in the filename.
Unlock the downloaded file, if any.
  1. In Windows Explorer, right-click the CHM file and select Properties.
  2. On the General tab, click the button that says Unlock. Click OK.
  3. Open the file as usual.
Try other solutions.

5. I downloaded the multi-volume RAR/ZIP archive, the archiver gives an error or suggests specifying another file. What should I do?

Some materials that occupy a large volume are stored in archives, broken into parts.
Each of these parts is downloaded separately from its own page.
Usually in this case, the part number and the total number of parts are indicated in the title. For example:
  • Marshak Samuel et al. Alphabet for babies. Poems and songs 1/3
  • Marshak Samuel et al. Alphabet for babies. Poems and songs 2/3
  • Marshak Samuel et al. Alphabet for babies. Poems and songs 3/3
To unzip such a multi-volume archive, follow these steps:
  1. Download all parts of the multi-volume archive and make sure that all parts of the archive are downloaded correctly.
  2. Change the name of the downloaded files so that they match the first part of the file name, and the extensions are different.
For a multi-volume RAR archive: the first file should be named
    file.part1.rar
    , the second -
    file.part2.rar
    , the third -
    file.part3.rar
    etc.
For a multi-volume ZIP archive: the first file should be named
    file.zip
    , the second -
    file.z01
    , the third -
    file.z02
    , etc.
  3. After changing names, you can successfully unzip files using WinRAR by opening the first file.

6. I looked through the file, but I did not save it, however, the points were withdrawn. Why?

Points are withdrawing upon pressing the Download button.
Downloading on this website (as well as on many others) means transferring a file over the network from the server to your computer, which also occurs upon pressing the Download button. It doesn't matter what you are going to do with the file later.
Also there is no option of previewing a file without downloading and withdrawing points.

7. I found a virus in the downloaded file. What should I do?

Report it in the comments or using proposal.
Attach a report of VirusTotal in that comment or proposal.
It should also be noted that not everything that is detected by antivirus software is actually a virus. There are many programs, utilities, cracks, keygens, etc. which cause false positives.

8. Downloaded file does not suit me, can I cancel the download and/or get the points back?

It is impossible to cancel a download.
Please read the file description including size and format information carefully before downloading. Pay attention to whether it contains warnings about file defects (missing pages, unreadable places, incompatibility with any programs, etc.)
If you downloaded the wrong file due to incorrect information in the description, please propose update to it (see the FAQ on files uploading, p. 16). A correctly submitted proposal, if accepted, will reimburse you the lost points.
If the file you downloaded is supposedly damaged, try applying the recommendations from the points above to this.
If you are firmly convinced that none of the recommendations help, propose deleting the damaged file using corresponding option of the Propose feature.
If the format of the downloaded file does not suit you, try to install programs that supports this format on your device, or use any available file converter.
You can also hide unsuitable files from the list of your downloaded files using the Hide from this list link.
